pine part 1
last week, my sister-in-law invited all the fam up to a cabin in pine, arizona. it was just the ticket to beat the already encroaching summer heat. not only that, it was fun to let the kids run, be free, be messy, be loud, be adventurous, and be happy.
some more gorgeous girls
whoah, how did it get to be june already? sorry i've been away from the blog for a few weeks. first, i want to say thanks so much for all your nice words and encouragement about the photos. you all know how to make a girl feel good! so thanks again!
gorgeous girls
this past weekend, i had my first official photo shoot!
it all came about in a unique way. our ward was having a YM/YW fundraising service auction. we've had these before and usually jeff signs up to make balloon animals and i call that good. now that i am in young women, i was trying to think of something i could donate this year. as the list arrived at me, i hadn't come up with anything yet. as i was sitting there, i thought, "i guess i could take pictures." and then i quickly scribbled photo shoot on the paper. as i handed it off, my heart thumped. what did i just do? yikes! i've never really taken pictures other than just for fun. well, there was no turning back now!
lucky for me, i had the wonderful privilege of taking pictures of a mother and her two daughters. i will be totally honest that i was shaking in my boots as i arrived at the location. but once we got going, it was fabulous.
they were simply gorgeous and beautiful and darling and sweet and fun! thank you so much for allowing me to capture your relationship!
and here are just a few of my favorites…
just a side note…i really haven't started my own business. i just put the watermark on them to look more professional!! hee. hee. i think it does the trick! 🙂
wannabe wedding photographer
yes that is me just for today. i will admit that i have a fetish for lovely wedding photography. and somehow i got to put on my wannabe hat over the weekend.
ok, so here's the story. while we were at our hotel, i was wandering around the grounds practicing with my camera and taking pictures of random stuff. when lo and behold, i happened upon a beach wedding. bingo!! lots of onlookers were peeking at the wedding as it was getting started. i figured, hey this could be some perfect practice. i felt a little sheepish seeing how i wasn't invited and all. but as the wedding party came out, i made eye contact with the bride. i motioned to my camera to see if it might be okay. she smiled. beautiful, isn't she?
can i get a hallelujah?
sing praises to the new camera lens! amen, sistah! hallelujah! oh you know that's right!
can i be any more excited? i am in heaven. pure bliss.
folks, there really can't be anything better than a beautiful moment of life captured on film. and to have that moment captured just as your eye envisioned it…well, it's just glorious!
we took a short jaunt this past weekend to california for a funeral and we just had to stop at one of our favorite spots. and this is what i captured. i am giddy. overwhelmingly giddy.
"keep off"
what???? 😉
i love this last one. of course i love them all. but, for some reason i just love jeff's hair. silly, huh? but i could just reach out and run my fingers through it. yum!
more fun photos to come!
simply amazing
i’ve always wanted to go on a whale watch and we finally got the chance.
and it was simply amazing.
back with more pictures soon but here is one for now. breathtaking.
we are so first timers
at this parenting gig!
last night was officially our first school program. you know the scene…eager, goofy parents cheering and waving and beaming watching their children fidget with their clothes, drop and pick up their hats a few hundred times and, of course, sing cutesy songs that make you laugh. and we can’t forget the slew of video cameras, tripods, and roving paparazzi trying to make elbow room to take that shot of your darling kiddo!
it was fun. so very fun to finally take part in this parenting first. and ella was fascinated too as she yelled out after the songs, “oh, dallin, you did tho good!”
and granny even got to come too. what a treat!
say cheese.
or better yet quesoso (cheesy)!
i think that best describes what i feel like when i pose for pictures.
here’s a few from our shoot. i think i’ll leave the modeling to amy! 🙂
dude. one word.
gorgeous.
yeah, that’s right! 🙂
as are all my sisters-in-law. we had a super fun little photo shoot while we were together for the holidays. amy and i have been dying to find a cool place to just take pictures. alas, the kids just don’t quite catch our vision! 😉
but we finally got a chance. i had seen this old abandoned house on the side of the road so we went there and totally scored. ah, it was heaven! and we were giddy fools. and victorious!
