making changes

drat! it’s going to be a tough week around here. it is time to make some changes with the little man’s sleeping habits or lack thereof. i’ve pretty much let him dictate things so i could hang on to my sanity, but in reality that hasn’t really helped. i was religious about babywise with dallin. with ella, she just likes her sleep so we’ve never had problems there. but with lincoln…well…his gassiness/fussiness means he sleeps about 15-30 minutes at a time and only while i’m holding him. not good. and nighttime isn’t that great either.
so, this mama is trying to buckle down and create a schedule. sometimes that word makes me shudder. i’ve never been good at schedules. i love them, yet my nature is such that if i can’t stick too it i’d rather not even have one. then i won’t feel like i’ve failed at something. how dumb is that? stinking weaknesses. 😉

so wish me luck. or sleep. or tough skin. or something like that.

happy monday!

  1. hang in there! our sweet baby boy is still not sleeping through the night…our doc suggested tough love, i.e. let him cry it out…i don’t think so. we refer to cannon’s little siestas as power naps, fully recharged after 20 minutes!

  2. Oh, Cherie, I so feel for you. Gavin was just like Lincoln and he had bad reflux as well! It was horrible. I don’t think he slept more than 4 hours until he was 8 months old. Sadly, my other 2 since then have been angels….no advice. Listen to your mommy instincts. Try the schedule…and here’s to more sleep!
P.S. Hope you had a fabulous time at Disney and a fun Turkey day!

  3. I have had success with Dr. Harvey Karp’s theories in The Happiest Baby on the Block. We did it with both our kids, and they are both super sleepers. Best of luck! I know it sucks when they don’t sleep, and I am a cranky momma if I don’t get a decent amount myself.
PS- We have a daughter named Ella, too! 🙂

  4. good luck, cherie! sadly, i’m the same way with schedules! lol. hence the *subject to change without notice. 🙂
hang in there- you’ll find your happy place.
