so we’ve been living in this house for four months now and i still haven’t done much to make it a “home.” it’s been driving me crazy to have dead wall space but for one reason or another i just haven’t gotten around to it.
nothing like having a baby to light a little fire under your tail. hah! so last night i stayed up way too late and finally made holes in walls. lots o’ them.
ella’s room was my first mostly finished project. when we moved in, the room was already yellow and i LOVED it! just perfect for all the little stuff i’ve been collecting for my girly girl! now i just need to get some updated pictures of her. it’s amazing to look at her baby pictures and still see those vibrant eyes staring back at me. how’d she get so lucky? thanks, granny!!

i used some scrapbook supplies to make these flowers and then framed them. i love how they turned out considering i’m paper and scissor challenged. 😉

hmm…we’ll see what i end up doing in the wee hours tonight!

i think i’m physically ready but emotionally…well…are you ever really ready?
hoping i can handle three right now. bound to be rough in the beginning. i’m quickly trying to finish my nesting, but somehow i think this bird has flown the coop. my head is full of mush and i think i hear a quiet old lady whispering hush. 😉

hmmm…i just had a thought.
i think i’m going to do a little something everyday here on the bloggy to count down. it’ll keep me occupied! hee. hee.

been crazy around here this month and the little ole blog got neglected. sorry ’bout that.
i’m actually glad it’s been so busy lately. it’s taken my mind off that fact that it’s hot and i have more surface area to soak up that heat! 🙂

jeff’s parents have been staying with us since the first of july. they have the month “off” so to speak. they get to come home and spend time with the family. we love it and try to cram in as much granny and grandpa time as possible.

even had a family reunion in one of my most favorite places on earth…durango, colorado. that whole area to me is heaven. and i decided that if i really had to choose between the beach and the mountains, i’d take the mountains. they are majestic, grand, peaceful and soothing. it does my heart good to smell the mountain air and explore nature around me. don’t get me wrong, the beach is fab too. but…this utah girl longs for the mountains.

i love that i share this day with a very special 97-year-old. he has always held a dear place in my heart. am i lucky or what?

remember this boy last year?

i think it must be pretty normal, but we kind of started back at square one with swimming lessons again this year. resistance, crying, faking sick, more crying, and forced entry into the pool. poor little guy.
every time we get in the car to leave, he acts like i’m sending him off to the dog pound forever. i have to take a deep breath every time.

yesterday, in our daily struggle to get into the car, i pretty much spelled it out for him like this. “dallin, you have to do this. i don’t want you to end up like me!”

from the blank stare on his face, i don’t think he has clued in yet that i can’t swim.
but, next year, folks. next year is my year. hold me to it. i can’t fake sick anymore. or sick in the head. the fear will be conquered. oh yes, i will be victorious!

yep, that’s right “days” is plural!

every time father’s day rolls around, jeff’s birthday is usually close by if not on the same day. i always feel bad that we can’t spread the love out a little more. but in any case, it is a double dose of fun for us. yummy breakfasts, yummy lunches, yummy dinners, yummy desserts, and some other stuff on the side.

and in case you didn’t know it yet, daddy….we love everything about you! every time i see this picture, i am reminded more and more of why i fell in love with you.
