van momma

ok, so while i do have an internet connection tonight, i’ll tell you about being a "van momma."
i swore in my younger days that i would never drive a van. no never. in fact i even remember blogging a long time ago about my dislike for mini vans. i mean vans were for frumpy ladies with 20 kids right? 😉
but, alas…i drive one now. and i love it! thanks to honda i don’t feel so frumpy either.

the odyssey is just dreamy. doors that open with a remote. a rear view mirror or the "mom is really mad now mirror" to check on the kids. enough room to bring all of costco home with you. and that truly amazing invention that has changed the future of road trips as we know them…as ella would say, "D.V.D."

so no more negative van vibes because being a van momma is the new cool! 😉 hee. hee.

  1. ha ha, cherie. i think your van rocks. bailey and alex keep asking when we’re gonna get one. they think if you have a mini van with a dvd player built in, you have arrived. i just might agree.

  2. I never wanted a van either. I want a TRUCK!
Gun metal gray, chrome bumpers, roll rack, KC lights, raised, step sides, the works!!! However, most trucks don’t seat a bazillion children. So I settled. Settled for a FORD (yuck) no less. Then….when our Windstar bit the dust (and OOOOHHH thank goodness it did). I got a Toyota. My beautiful, wonderful, Toyota. I love my van for the same reasons you love yours.
Yes, I still have the dream of some day having my truck, but for now, the Toyota works and is a huge blessing. Glad that you love your van.

  3. we LOVE our Odyssey!!! i love all the extra storage space compared to other vans. love the space of a SUV and the turning radius of a car. love that adults can comfortably sit in ALL three rows. love that the back seats fold down flat. we have owned ours for a year and i have not found one thing i would change.

  4. So, did you look into the Sienna at all when shopping for your Odyssey? If so, what were your impressions? I’m trying to debate between those two or just going with another SUV. I would love to just get a van, but I really love the truck feel of the SUV.

  5. sariah, we did a little comparison with the sienna but we decided to go with a honda simply because we have had honda cars before and love them. so i really can’t offer up much advice. but, yeah, you are a truck kinda woman!! 🙂

  6. well, we’re down to six weeks and then our family no longer fits in either of our vehicles. we could all pile in the truck, but what a pain with three car seats! so the van hunt continues. kade is shedding big tears everyday giving up his new truck…he knew this day was coming, but it hasn’t been easy on him!! so we’re still leaning towards the odyssey, trying to decide what year, how much we want to spend…all the factoring in when buying a vehicle! (unless it’s a truck and then we seem to drive the brand new one off the lot!) kade knows i have a good battle in getting just what i want with my van!! i’m glad to hear you love your van…we’ll be there soon! 🙂
