i really did think there may have been no hope for the beast.
i made some major mess-ups when i tried to patch the double holes of
the pulls. some people are smart and actually go to the store to buy
spackle when they realize they don't have any. other people (me) think
that caulking might just do the trick because after all it is white and
sticky. i may as well have used toothpaste! a smart one, i am. 😉
i
was tempted to leave the disaster as it was. but i couldn't justify
doing that much work to cringe every time i walked by it. seeing all
the sunken in and bumpy holes would have driven me nuts. so i put on my
patience hat and went to work with more scraping, sanding, and
painting. then trying to put the new knobs in was a whole other event.
just don't ask jeff about it. he may start twitching. oh the things he
does for me!
but she survived. we all survived. i think i'll name her bertie, as in big bertha. she makes me happy.

oh thanks, everyone!! the sweat paid off! 🙂
jill…everything is either from homegoods: metal letters, glass vase, basket or anthropologie: fabric M, pillow on clearance, placemats and small vases.
nicki…she’s in the family room. we have a big empty space between the kitchen and the couches. i’ve been debating on what to put there forever. bertie did the trick!

Everything you touch you turn to beautiful…you have such an eye for color and design. It is so fun to come here. I have an off topic question…what lens do you use for your photos?
Love Love Love this! Great job! What paint did you use? I can’t seem to find one I like. Also, where did you get the great hardware?
charity…i use a canon 50mm 1.4 lens. it is amazing! i love it!
jillian…the paint is benjamin moore simply white. (it did turn out a little brighter than i expected though)
the knobs are from anthropologie…hobby lobby has some cool hardware too, they just didn’t have the color i wanted.
