mother bird has landed. . .

in ARIZONA!

it’s official! life has now begun in the valley of the sun. what a nutty week it has been–so nutty that i won’t go into that right now. suffice it to say that moving is stressful and full of twists and unexpected turns. but we are here, mostly unpacked, and ready to rock the heat! although this week has been unseasonably cool. in fact, the second night here we had a rain storm all night. and here i was not expecting to see rain for another two years or more. 😉

i will say that i am delighted with our new home and backyard!!!! we can actually take more than two steps before hitting the fence. land ho! hallelujah!

we are still pinching ourselves that we have family all around and we don’t have to say goodbye anytime soon. it was also crazy to attend church and have people immediately recognize our last name instead of the usual explanation that indeed, the word “mask” can also be a surname.

dallin and ella are enjoying spending time with more cousins than they can count. and i am looking forward to hanging out with family and maybe even getting unpaid babysitters once in a while. 🙂 😉 🙂

here is a little peek of what we did this afternoon!

i recall writing as this year started, “perhaps this will be an adventurous year. in fact, i’m sure it will be.” interesting to think that i had little idea of things that have already come our way. but i am grateful to know it’s all part of the plan. a plan that is wiser than my own!

  1. Oh, it is SOOO good to see you blogging again! I’m really glad that y’all made it to Arizona safely too! Funny about the weather there, we have been having some freaky weather too. Lots of rain (a little unusual), but it is a good thing as we are in a serious drought.

  5. So glad to see you blogging again. The weather around here has been unusually pleasant as well. We are considering the delayed heat as a tender mercy. It doesn’t take much more than about 30 sec of good California weather to get spoiled. 🙂 Love you guys!!
